Vimeo
Over the winter my wife bought us a new flat-screen TV to replace our old yard sale CRT dinosaur. I set up a small computer with a good video card and an HDMI connection, initially to watch NetFlix.
While surfing around and admiring the crisp images I happened upon Vimeo.com.
Vimeo is a website where aspiring movie-makers can showcase their talents. None of the grainy, shaky cell phone videos you find on Youtube.
Do a search for “motorcycle” and you’ll find excellent, high-definition footage of the Isle Of Man TT, Moto GP racing along with assorted travel essays and artsy shorts. One of my recent sessions included a history of board-track racing in the US a century ago. Lots of stills of course, considering the era, but also some very rare action footage. I had no idea how absolutely huge the tracks were.
Check it out when you have a chance.
